Ancient Quarries
كما يوجد نوع اخر من المحاجر وهو محاجر ادوات الطحن الحجرية ، هذه المحاجر تعود لعصر الايبي بلوليثك و الي العصور التالية حتي العصر الروماني ، تركزت هذه المحاجر علي طبقات الحجر الرملي المتكلس – الكوراتزيت المنتشر علي المنطقة وتم قطع ادوات الطحن الحجرية منه ، بعض هذه الادوات يعود لفترة قديمة ويظهر ذلك من خلال طبقات الباتينا علي الحجر و الاخر يعود لفترة الرومان حيث ينتشر مع هذه الادوات والمحاجر ملاجئ حجرية بها كسر فخار يعود لهذه الفترة.
يوجد نوع اخر من المحاجر ولكنه قليل يتركز عند مدخل الوادي وهو محاجر الكتل الحجرية من الحجر الرملي ، هذا النوع من المحاجر تطلب نوع جيد من الحجر الرملي التي يمكن قطع كتل حجرية كبيرة منها وهذا النوع من الاحجار غير متوفر بكثرة بالمنطقة ، لهذا لم يتم العثور سوي علي موقعين صغيريين لهذا النوع من المحاجر الموقع 7 و 12. صور تظهر علامات الادوات ان هذه المحاجر تعود الي العصر الروماني وربما نهايته.
A large number of ancient quarries were found the western side of Wadi Subeira , the oldest quarries dates back to Palaeolithic. This early quarries extends on the highest pointes on the stone hills and spread over the whole area. The main object of these quarries were stone tools of clicified sand stone quarried from veins found in the area.
Another type of quarries were found in the area , it is grinding stone quarries which at least date back to Epipalaeolithic till the roman times. these quarries focused on the layers of sintered sandstone - quartzite spread to the area and the tools were cut stone milling, for an ancient period and it is shown through the layers of Batina on the stone and the other goes back to the time of the Romans, where spread with these tools and quarries stone shelters with broken pottery dating back to this period.

عثر علي عدد من المدقات التي استخدمت قديما في عبور الوادي نحو الشرق والعكس ،هذه المدقات للجمال وربما للحمير ايضا، فقد استخدم الوادي للعبور منه الي الصحر اء الشرقية ثم البحر الاحمر او جنوبا نحو مناطق مناجم الذهب و الاماتيست بالعلاقي ووادي الهودي، ينتشر علي الطرق او المدقات بعض الملاجئ الحجرية التي استخدمت لراحة المسافرين ، في هذه الملاجئ عثر علي عدد من كسر الفخار الذي يعود للعصور مختلفة مثل العصر الروماني والحديث بالاضافة لبعض الكتابات منها الفرعونية والبدوية.
